Daddy’s Hearing Aid

My daddy is 86 years old. He is still the precious daddy he always was. He loves to give me things. He loves when I come to visit. He is frail now and he doesn’t hear too well. He has a hearing aid, but it bothers him so bad that, he doesn’t use it very often. But when I come to visit, he always disappears to the back of the house and comes back with it in his ear. He wants to be able to hear me. My daddy is interested in anything I want to talk about. Oh, I try to talk about football and things that interest him, but my daddy just wants to be with me.

Your heavenly Father just wants to be with you. He wants to hear about the things that concern you. His ear is tuned to your voice. He made you to have fellowship with Him. Prayer is so much more than babbling off items from your “I Want or I Need” list. Prayer is about relationship. It is about spending time with your Father. He really listens, you know.

Note: My dad passed away before I could get this newsletter mailed out. I can triumphantly say that  I know my daddy is with Jesus.

Nothing can make a man truly great but being truly good, and partaking of God’s holiness. –Matthew Henry
