Abba Father

"Jesus grew up experiencing an intimate familiarity with his heavenly Father. Is it any accident that one of the names Jesus gives for God is Abba, an affectionate Aramaic nickname for Father--for many children the first kind of syllable mouthed in their infant babbling? Jesus prayed this childish form of address during his agony at Gethsemane and on the way to the cross He made it the anguished cry of a child trusting in a loving parent " Abba, Father, everything is possible for you. God wants His children to really know Him, not just know about Him. There is a drastic difference. One is relationship, the other is knowledge. Relationship brings likeness of actions, thoughts and attitudes. Knowledge only brings condemnation. Go beyond knowledge, go after relationship.

If you have not read Secrets of the Vine  by Bruce Wilkerson, then please pick up a copy. This inexpensive little book is incredible. I was challenged once again to go beyond knowledge to relationship with my Heavenly Father.
