Divine
Exchange
Have
you ever visited a game arcade? Probably the first thing you did was
exchange several dollars for tokens that would operate the games. Now if you
were fortunate enough to be in a game room that offered the great exchange
rate of 22 tokens for $5.00 then maybe you thought you were getting a
bargain? But how much money did you exchange for a few games before you
walked out.
Or if you have ever traveled to a foreign country,
you had to exchange your money for currency that could be spent in that
country. Sometimes you get more of their money than you got for your money
and sometimes you get less. It depends on the rate of exchange.
At
the cross God provided for you to experience a Divine exchange. He says give
me your self-righteousness and take my righteousness. But there must be a
mistake here. Our self-righteousness stinks. It is nasty like the rag you
clean up dog vomit with. God is willing to exchange his spotless, beautiful
righteousness for your vomit filled rags? That’s right. That doesn’t
make sense. No, but the cross is the place of God’s Divine exchange.
Jesus
said, “Bring me your fear, I’ll exchange it for my peace.” Wait a
minute, that doesn’t make sense. But it’s God’s Divine Exchange.
Jesus
said, “Give me your pain, I’ll give you healing. See the stripes, I
purchased it for you.” It not fair. It doesn’t make sense, but it’s
Love’s Divine Exchange.”
