Christmas Lessons
I'm Gettin' Something Good
Here is a great dramatization idea to use with the
song
"I'm Gettin' Something Good!" from the
RPM Christmas CD.
This skit may be performed
with children or puppets. You will
need: Three
males, a cute little puppy, 2 presents (with straps for the puppets hands to go
into if using puppets), and a
Biblical male. Boy (lead singer) enters. Backup singers holding a small present enter just
prior to backup.
2nd Verse: Lead boy shows the audience his long list. The list should unfold
several times as he drops it over the edge of the stage. Backup should sway back
and forth swinging their gifts. Even lifting them over their heads and back down
again.
3rd Verse: A cute, little puppy rushes on stage. One backup tries to shoo
the dog away. The snatches the present with his mouth and runs off. (practice
this) Still doing backup, the boy chases the dog off the stage and back on stage
again. Remember to sing backup as needed.
Gloved hand gives the boy an open Bible. Show props or rear
projection visuals of manger scene, cross and key words in the song. Key words
can be put on props that look like presents. I suggest the following key words:
Something, Good, Eternal Life, His Love.
Continuing through the chorus. Boy chases the puppy off the stage. Pause off
stage. The dog chases the boy onto the stage.
Pause. Dog comes back onto stage with matching gift wrap in his mouth as if he
ripped open the package. He should be shaking his head as if he is tearing the
paper and ripping it to pieces.
Last part of song have puppet in biblical attire enter, take
his hand and they exit together.
